Site Supervisor/Assurance Manager – Gas Transmission - Nationwide

This is where you come in:


Due to the rapid expansion of Rhead Group’s business both within the UK and internationally we have a requirement for Site Assurance Manager’s to join our expanding Construction Management team, working throughout the UK on Gas Transmission projects.


The Site Assurance Manager (SAM) shall assist the Project Manager to ensure that the works are constructed in accordance with the contract, acting as the formal construction interface for the contractor
for all day to day construction site activities. The Site Assurance Manager will also be responsible for monitoring contractor performance to ensure consistent, safe and timely delivery of projects supporting our client.


Key responsibilities will include:

-Identifying, recording and notify the Contractor and Project Manager of defects
-Monitor Health & Safety systems of work operated by the Principal Contractor and subcontractors throughout the duration of the project
-Act as Health and Safety Inspector for Safety audits
-Ensure Costain policies, procedures and Guidelines are adhered to
-Work with the Contractor to coordinate test and inspection activities detailed in the Works Information
-Ensures that any pre-delivery test or inspection activities of plant and materials detailed in the Works Information have been undertaken
-Mark equipment, plant and materials outside of the working area. In addition the Site Assurance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that appropriate systems are in place to manage and control materials (e.g. procurement material schedule and control systems)-Act as the formal interface with the contractor for all day to day construction site activities
-Monitor and report on site activities
-Identify and co-ordinate the resolution of potential and actual problems
-Instruct the project team members to provide additional support including reports as necessary
-Ensure site document control system embeds the requirement to review method statements
-Chair weekly site construction meetings and record close out of HS&E Audit actions
-Oversee the establishment of a satisfactory system of all relevant Permit requirements and ensure it is being implemented by the contractor
-Support the review and preparation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements
-Support delivery of SHE performanceReport all incidents, accidents and near misses in accordance with Rhead Group requirements
-Monitor and report on site activitiesIdentify and co-ordinate the resolution of potential and actual problemsAdvise the Project Manager on Risk Assessments and Method Statements.


Qualifications:

-Degree qualified with a minimum of two years industry experience OR

-HNC or equivalent qualified with a minimum of four years industry experience

-Holds a current EUSR safety passport

-Has undertaken SHEA Gas Training

-Has undertaken SCO training

-Has undertaken CDM awareness training

-Has undertaken a one day Supervising H&S Awareness course.


Knowledge / Skills / Behaviours:

-Experience of working on Gas Transmission projects

-Familiar with relevant commissioning processes

-Aware of Accident, Incident and Near Miss Reporting and Investigation

-Understands HSE Management System and requirements

-Understands the impact of safety and environmental legislation

-Has undertaken the monitoring of safety and environmental performance for major construction/Infrastructure projects

-Has carried out formal audits on major construction/Infrastructure projects

-Technical documentation understanding (drawings, material data sheets, etc.)

-Exposure to environmental management and control legislation

-Development and production of Environmental Impact Assessments / Determinations

-Has experience in the planning consent process

-Has experience in the management of protected species licence requirements

-Experienced in conducting competency assessments

-Production and evaluation of work methods statements and procedures

-Has experience of the design assurance process

-Has experience in the benefits of integrated temporary works consideration and planning on the permanent works

-Is aware of and has managed relevant safety legislation including confined spaces, working at height

-Member of a professional institute

-Full driving license.
